P'cu

The official currency of the PCC, this currency was developed immediately following the treaty of Denver in 2018. Due to the matrix crashes of 2029 and 2064, this currency suffered hyperinflation, causing its fractional denominations to be abandoned in subsequent years. The individual P’cu is not very valuable, but the currency has become quite stable in recent decades.
The P’cu was originally an acronym for Pueblo Credit Unit, but general social laziness contributed to using its abbreviated form, which slowly transformed into its current iteration today.
The P’cu is favored by many North American companies due to its ease of access (it is supported by a multitude of banks and credit unions) and its security. The format for digital currency transactions has proven extremely difficult to counterfeit, making the P’cu the only currency more secure than the Nuyen. Its small trade value also makes it an ideal exchange currency.
The symbol for the P’cu is not unlike a backwards 3 with a circle in the top-half’s corner. The design is based on the native currency of clamshells used prior to european settlement of the continent called the wampum.

CalFree’s Currency

The P’cu was adopted by CalFree as the nation’s official currency in 2078. The dollar had become too unstable after the UCAS union and the subsequent secession of the CAS. The nuyen also proved too unpopular considering the JIS‘s previous occupation of CalFree and the following tyranny of General Saito. The Pueblo Corporate Council also shares CalFree’s entire eastern and southern borders, which increased corporate pressure to adopt the P’cu.
